    PT Bank Permata Tbk tahun ini berniat memperbesar bisnis kartu kreditnya. Setelah mengakuisisi GE Finance Indonesia (GEFI), pekan lalu, bisnis kartu kredit PermataBank bakal tumbuh tiga kali lipat.

    “Saat ini, kartu kredit kami yang beredar di pasar sudah mencapai 250.000 kartu,” ujar Direktur Retail Banking PermataBank Lauren Sulistiawati, Selasa (15/6). GEFI yang memiliki brand GE Money merupakan perusahaan pembiayaan (multifinance) yang menjadi pemain utama di bisnis kartu kredit.

    Ia bilang, GE Finance mempunyai basis konsumen yang besar sehingga memberi nilai tambah bagi PermataBank. “Kami ingin jadi salah satu pemain terbesar dalam bisnis consumer banking dan commercial banking,’ jelasnya.

    Tunggu persetujuan BI

    Mengutip data Bank Indonesia (BI) per April 2010, Pembiayaan kartu kredit yang sudah disalurkan oleh multifinance mencapai Rp 872 miliar. Angka ini turun 19,72 % dibanding penyaluran pembiayaan kartu kredit per akhir April 2009 yang sebesar Rp 1,04 triliun.

    Lauren mengatakan, akuisisi GE merupakan cara cepat dan murah untuk mengembangkan bisnis kartu kredit PermataBank. Sayangnya, ia belum bersedia menyebutkan berapa biaya yang dikeluarkan PermataBank untuk mengakuisisi GEFI. “Kami masih menunggu persetujuan dari BI agar dapat merampungkan akuisisi tersebut,” imbuhnya.

    Sekadar informasi, pada 8 Juni lalu PermataBank resmi menandatangani Shares Purchase Agreement (SPA) untuk membeli 100% saham GEFI. Rinciannya: sebanyak 340.386 saham dimiliki oleh GE Capital International Holdings Corporation dan 146.774 saham dimiliki oleh PT General Electric Services Indonesia.

    David Fletcher, Direktur Utama PermataBank, menambahkan akuisisi ini merupakan upaya Permata memaksimalkan pengunaan likuiditas dan permodalan untuk mengembangkan bisnisnya.
